Neuro-Affirming Therapy for Kids, Couples, & Families in Garland & Online Across Texas

Support for ADHD, Autism, and high-masking Kids, Couples, and Families Who Are Ready to Thrive—Not Just "Get By."

Expertise for Brains That Work Differently

When you or your child don’t fit into the "standard" box, life can feel like a constant uphill battle. Whether it’s the exhaustion of high-masking, the friction in a neuro-distinct marriage, or the overwhelm of parenting a child with intense needs, you shouldn't have to explain your basic reality to your therapist.

I specialize in neuro-affirming care. This means I don't see ADHD or Autism as problems to be "fixed." Instead, I work with you to understand your brain’s unique wiring, identify environmental triggers, and build a life that honors your needs instead of fighting against them.

Are we a good fit?

WHO YOU ARE

  • You are carrying a lot. You’re looking for a specialist who won't just listen, but will help you find real, lasting solutions to the "heavy" cycles in your life.

  • You need a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can be your authentic self without fear of being "too much" or misunderstood.

  • You are exhausted by the school system and tired of navigating IEPs and 504 meetings alone. You need someone who knows the "ins and outs" of local schools.

  • You are a parent or individual looking for a therapist who is patient and creative in meeting you exactly where you are today.

WHO I AM

  • Compassionate, intuitive, and purpose-driven. I am focused on helping you find practical shifts that lead to genuine healing.

  • Gentle, deeply respectful, and empathetic. I provide a supportive environment where your story is honored and protected.

  • A fierce advocate with GISD roots. Having worked within the Garland Independent School District, I have a unique "inside-out" understanding of how our local schools operate. I don't just speak the language of IEPs; I know how to navigate the specific systems your family is dealing with every day.

  • Patient and creative. I don't use a "one-size-fits-all" approach; I adapt my work to fit your unique brain and your specific pace.

No matter what you’re going through, your feelings are normal.
And we are here for you.

My Areas of Specialized Support

Neuro-Diverse Couples Counseling

"We love each other, but we aren't speaking the same language." Relationships where one or both partners are neuro-divergent face unique challenges—from executive function "chores wars" to sensory-based communication gaps. I help couples move away from the "parent-child" dynamic and toward a partnership built on mutual respect for how each person processes the world. We focus on practical systems that reduce shame and increase intimacy.

Neuro-Affirming Play Therapy for Kids

Traditional therapy often asks neuro-divergent kids to "mask" or comply. I do the opposite. Using both directive and non-directive play therapy, I help children build emotional regulation, self-worth, and communication skills on their own terms. I provide a space where your child can be exactly who they are while learning how to navigate a world that isn't always built for them.

IEP Advocacy & Special Education Support

"A Therapist Who Speaks 'School'." Parenting a child with a disability often feels like a full-time job of advocacy. As a former Garland ISD Special Education professional, I offer more than just an understanding of disability law—I have navigated the local system from the inside out.

I provide the tactical guidance you need to walk into IEP and 504 meetings with confidence. Because I have sat on both sides of the table in our local Garland schools, I know how to translate your child’s needs into the specific language and accommodations that get results in the classroom. You shouldn't have to fight for your child's rights alone; I use my history within the district to ensure your family is heard, your child is supported, and the law is actually put into practice.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes. I can provide you with a monthly Superbill to submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

  • I see clients in-person at our Garland, TX office (convenient to Rockwall, Richardson, Wylie, and Rowlett) and offer telehealth sessions for all residents of Texas.

  • practice neuro-affirming play therapy, which means I never force 'compliance' or 'eye contact.' My office is a sensory-safe zone. If your child needs to move, pace, or play silently to regulate, that is respected. If a meltdown occurs, we don't 'discipline' it; we treat it as a communication of overwhelm and work on co-regulation. We follow your child’s lead to build trust, which is the only way true emotional growth happens.

  • Yes. Unlike generalist play therapists, my background in Special Education allows me to translate what we see in the playroom into 'School Language.' I can help you identify which specific accommodations (like sensory breaks, visual schedules, or testing modifications) will actually help your child succeed in a Garland ISD or surrounding area classroom.

  • Yes. My background includes direct experience working within the Garland school system. This gives me a unique vantage point—I understand the specific hurdles, the available resources, and the internal processes of our local district. I’m not just a therapist in the community; I’m a professional who knows how to collaborate with local educators and administrators to ensure your child’s IEP or 504 plan actually works in the classroom.

  • Knowing the law is one thing; knowing the local culture is another. Because I have worked within the Garland Independent School District, I understand the internal processes and the "language" used by our local administrators. I help you translate your child’s needs into the exact terminology that gets results in an IEP or 504 meeting.

Stop Navigating the System Alone

You don’t have to be the only expert on your child’s needs. Whether you are facing a difficult IEP meeting or just trying to find a path through the "heavy" cycles in your life, I am here to help you bridge the gap. Let’s work together to create a future where you—and your family—can truly thrive.
